The West Milford Presbyterian Church
 COMMUNITY PANTRY

Matthew 25:35
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and
you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me…

Our Mission:
The West Milford Presbyterian Church Pantry’s mission and ministry is to help our community neighbors in need—who struggle to make ends meet, by supporting and providing food assistance.
In 2020 when the pandemic hit, we saw the need to increase our efforts by opening weekly, rather than monthly. We expanded our provisions to include fresh items such as milk, butter, eggs, fruits, vegetables, meats in addition to the basic non-perishables.  Our pantry guests call in during our open hours and each request is personally handled by a volunteer. A pickup time is individually arranged keeping our guest’s anonymity essential. Through the support and donations from food drives, community churches, organizations, schools and individuals, we’ve been able to maintain the weekly requests. However, with rising costs we are finding more families in need calling our pantry and the demand for food increasing.

If you’re in need of food:

Call  973- 908- 5985.
Pantry hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday.

8:00 AM-12"00 PM  on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Starting October 22nd
  1. Make a general list of staples needed such as flour, pancake mix,
cereal, canned items, pasta, sauce, cleaning and toiletry items.
  2. Call Tuesday or Thursday between 9am-5pm. You will be directed to call the volunteer assigned to that day. Simply provide us with the number you are feeding in your household.
  3. Arrange a specific time with your volunteer to have your request ready for pick up.
  4. The items will be waiting in bins outside the church kitchen doors. We ask that you bring your own bags and collect your items from the bins due to our shortage of grocery bags.

How can I help?

There are several ways you can get involved:
  • Coordinate a food drive in your neighborhood or through an organization. We’ll provide you with a list of needed items, then arrange a date and time for drop off.

  • Monetary donations are truly needed! We purchase fresh and staple items weekly, so your donation allows us to shop and restock our most essential items. Please make checks payable to Please make checks payable to “WMPC Community Pantry”

  • Purchase and donate a store gift card from Shop Rite, Stop & Shop, Acme, Walmart and Target that can be used for our pantry shopping.

  • Shop with our list when you’re shopping! Just grabbing a few items can help us stay stocked. From basic non-perishables food to personal hygiene products, your donations are greatly appreciated. Call and let us know when you are
dropping items off. Donation bins are outside the door near our parking lot.

Matthew 14:13-21
Just as Jesus miraculously fed 5000 people with just 5 loaves and 2 fishes, we too can share in Christ’s compassion that is boundless and giving. A simple act of caring can make a huge impact on so many lives.
